Privacy Policy
Last updated: 17 September 2026
1. About this Privacy Policy
RuralRelay (“we”, “us” or “our”) connects Australian farms with workers looking for farm employment opportunities. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and share personal information when you use the RuralRelay website, submit a worker profile, submit a farm job or otherwise communicate with us.
2. Information We Collect
We may collect information that you provide directly to RuralRelay, including:
Worker information: name, email address, phone number, current location, availability, relocation preferences, accommodation requirements, visa information, farm experience, machinery experience, skills, licences and tickets, references, CV and other information submitted through your worker profile.
Farm and employer information: farm or business name, contact name, email address, phone number, location, job requirements, roles required, start date, duration, pay rate, accommodation details, required experience, skills, licences and other information submitted when requesting workers.
We may also collect basic technical information associated with use of our website and communications, such as browser, device and website interaction information where available.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to operate RuralRelay and connect farms with suitable workers. This may include:
• matching workers with farm jobs based on availability, location, experience, skills, machinery experience, licences and other job requirements;
• sending workers information about potentially suitable job opportunities;
• allowing workers to indicate whether they are interested in an opportunity;
• providing relevant worker information to a farm or employer after the worker indicates interest in that opportunity;
• communicating with farms and workers about matches, applications and the RuralRelay service;
• maintaining, improving and protecting the RuralRelay platform; and
• preventing misuse, fraud or other unauthorised activity.
RuralRelay does not make employment decisions on behalf of farms or workers. Farms decide who they wish to contact or employ, and workers decide which opportunities they wish to pursue.
4. Sharing Your Information
Worker profiles are not intended to be publicly searchable on RuralRelay.
When a worker indicates that they are interested in a particular job opportunity, RuralRelay may share relevant information from that worker’s profile with the farm or employer associated with that opportunity. This may include the worker’s name, contact details, experience, skills, licences, availability, location and CV where provided.
We may also disclose information to service providers that help us operate RuralRelay, such as website hosting, form, email, data storage and technology providers, where reasonably necessary to provide the service.
We may disclose information where required by law or where reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety or security of RuralRelay, our users or others.
We do not sell personal information to third parties.
5. Data Storage and Security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
Information submitted to RuralRelay may be stored and processed using third-party technology and service providers that support our website, forms, databases, email communications and other platform functions.
While we take reasonable precautions to protect personal information, no method of electronic storage or transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
6. Data Retention and Your Rights
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate RuralRelay, provide our services, maintain appropriate business records and meet any legal obligations.
You may contact RuralRelay to request access to or correction of personal information we hold about you. You may also ask us to delete your worker profile or other personal information, subject to any information we are required or permitted to retain by law.
If your circumstances change, including your availability, location, contact details or employment status, you may contact us to request that your information be updated.
Requests regarding personal information can be sent to jobs@ruralrelay.com.au.
7. Third-Party Services
RuralRelay uses third-party service providers to operate and deliver its services. These providers may process or store information on our behalf, including services used for website hosting, online forms, data storage, email communications and automation.
These third-party providers have their own privacy policies and data handling practices. Personal information may be processed or stored outside Australia depending on the infrastructure used by those providers.
Where reasonably practicable, RuralRelay takes steps to use reputable service providers and limit the information shared with them to what is necessary to operate the service.
8. Cookies and Website Data
RuralRelay and the third-party services used to operate our website may use cookies or similar technologies to provide website functionality, understand how the service is used, maintain security and improve the user experience.
Your browser may allow you to block or delete cookies. Disabling certain cookies may affect how some parts of the website function.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as RuralRelay develops or our practices change. Any updated version will be published on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
We encourage users to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how RuralRelay handles personal information.
